Drainage & Water Systems
Fix the water, not just what it washed away.
Drainage is planned with the finished grades and long-term performance in mind. In Western North Carolina, steep terrain and heavy rainfall can move water quickly across a property, and water that has nowhere to go creates erosion.
Plumb handles property drainage, French drains, swales and diversion, culverts, stormwater management, erosion repair, hillside water problems, and foundation and site drainage. The point is to address the water and the drainage problem, not just replace the material the water washed away.
On mountain sites, controlling water is one of the most important parts of protecting a property. Fix where the water comes from, not just the damage it leaves.
Common questions
A culvert fails when it is damaged, blocked, undersized or overwhelmed by heavy rainfall. When that happens, water can quickly cause erosion and wash out the surrounding area.
Exposed or damaged culvert pipes, washed-out soil around a culvert, debris blocking the water, erosion around roads or driveways, and water flowing where it should not.
Often it is not. Proper drainage, grading, culvert placement and erosion control may all be needed to keep the same problem from coming back.
