Why Do Culverts Fail After Heavy Rain?

After a major storm, look for:

  • Exposed or damaged culvert pipes
  • Washed-out soil around the culvert
  • Debris blocking water flow
  • Erosion around roads or driveways
  • Water flowing where it shouldn't

Simply replacing the pipe may not solve the problem. Proper drainage, grading, culvert placement, and erosion control may all be needed to prevent the same issue from happening again.
